Il centro visitatori The Museum is dedicated to the brown bear, the symbol of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. The exhibition has been set in the beautiful historical building of "Cortefranca", an old manor of the 14th century, repaired a short time ago.
The choice to set the museum in Spormaggiore, a little town looking towards the Non Valley, closed to the eastern boarders of the Nature Park, has its meaning.

The town lies in fact in front of the north-eastern side of the Brenta Group, where the last authentic brown bears of the Alps still live and the first studies in Trentino about this specie took place. Moreover the town welcomes a faunistic area where a few specimens of brown bear live in captivity.

The Museum of the Bear is an essential part of the initiatives which the Nature Park is carrying out in order to protect the survival of this animal specie in the Alps and has the purpose of giving the visitor a deeper knowledge about the history and the features of this animal, often still considered a wild and bloody beast.
